Insulation process
Green Energy Solutions provides a full service team of insulation installers. Insulation can be installed into an attic, walls, or floor. Depending on the type of area and personal preference of the home owner or builder, we can install batts of insulation, use a blowable material, or inject foam insulation from either the interior or exterior. We also can spray foam into open framing. Our staff is ready to take acurate measurements of insulation required for any job and provide an easy to read, itemized bid.
- Attic insulation: Typically attics are blown in with loose-fill fiberglass or cellulose if there is enough space for a crew to work within the attic itself. In tight spaced attics batt insulation is common because of the inaccessability to blow. It is compression fitted between the rafters.
- Wall insulation: Options for wall insulation include batted, blown, foam, injected, or sprayed with a variety of products. Insulation can be installed in open as well as closed wall cavities. Kraft-faced batts are placed into wall cavities and then stapled to the studs. Blown-in material can be injected or bibbed through small holes in the wall or bib fabric. Foam can be sprayed into an open wall cavity to the desired R-value. The advtantage of spray foam is that it air seals and has the highest R-value. Spray foam can also be used as a flash and batt process with an inch and half of foam next to the exterior wall and the rest of the wall cavity filled with a fiberglass batt. Injection foam is inserted from either the siding or drywall and filled through a 2 inch hole in an enclosed wall cavity.
- Floor insulation: Batted material is installed in floor cavities and then fastened in place with twine to assure no space is left between the insulation material and the floor itself. Spray foam is blown into open cavities to the desired R-value. In a flash and batt, spray foam is applied to the underside of the floor and batt material is placed on top of that. The advantage of this process is that air seals and is cheaper than using 100% foam.
Thermco Retrofit Injection Foam Process
We start by carefully removing a row of siding then drilling a series of small holes. We drill directly through T-111, and drill through the mortar joint on brick.

Then we carefully inject the low pressure foam into the wall, between studs, filling the entire cavity. Note that there is no need for special breathing equipment or protective clothing.

After we spray the foam we clean up the injection site, plug the hole, patch the siding, and we're done!

Spray foam process
For any spray foam project first we prep the area to be sprayed. We cover areas we want to protect with plastic. This is to make sure valuables are not exposed to over-spray. Next we heat up our reactor, so that our two-part foam reaches the correct temperature and pressure. We then put on protective gear and hook up our spray gun. The foam is now ready to be sprayed into open framing cavities. We apply the foam in an even pattern until we reach the desired R-value or fill the cavity. When finished we cut the foam so that it is even with the stud bay. Lastly we complete a through clean up to ensure no mess is left behind.

Polyurethane spray foam can be sprayed in any open wall, floor, and attic cavity. With the closed cell foam we can get an r-value of 7 per inch. This is the highest R-value possible with any product on the market today. The foam is sprayed through our state of the art custom spray equipment. Our technicians are highly trained in spray foam applications.
The advantages of foam are:
1. Highest R-value.
2. Air sealing of all cracks, holes, and penetrations throughout wood structures decreases the undesired air flow through the building and adds strength to the home.
3. Prevents moisture damage as the foam seals off ways for water to enter the structure.
4. Works very well in remodel situations were the wall cavity has a limited space for insulation.
5. Will not deteriorate over time like fiberglass.
